For decades, Continental conveyor idlers have been utilized in some of the most productive material handling applications. Continental idlers and return rolls are available for CEMA B, C, D, E, and F applications.

HB series

HB series idlers are designed for CEMA B applications.  HB series idler rolls are produced using proprietary manufacturing and assembly techniques that control the bearing end-play setting to precise engineered specifications.  Bearing and seal cavities are filled with grease from the factory to promote long-life operation.

The HB roll features:

• 3/4”, modified geometry tapered roller bearings
• Five-stage seal design contributes to long-life operation without re-lubrication
  • An exterior shield provides an initial barrier to divert contaminants away from the bearing cavity.
  • A flinger employs the natural centrifugal forces of a rotating idler roll to redirect potential contaminants away from the bearing cavity.
  • A contact lip seal provides additional sealing protection and keeps lubricant in the bearing cavity.
  • A grease-filled, horizontal labyrinth seal impedes progress of contaminants toward the bearing.
  • A rear seal provides added protection for the grease reservoir.

HC series

HC series idlers are designed for CEMA C applications, and troughing idlers meet CEMA D specifications through 36” belt width.  HC series idler rolls have the same modified geometry, 3/4″ tapered roller bearings and five-stage seal design as our HB idler roll design.  Bearing and seal cavities are filled with grease from the factory to promote long-life operation.

HD series

HD idlers exceed CEMA D specifications.  HD series rolls have the same modified geometry, 3/4″ tapered roller bearings and five-stage seal design as our HB and HC idler rolls. Bearing and seal cavities are filled with grease from the factory to promote long-life operation.  In addition, our engineered shaft is available on all return rolls and 42” belt width and wider center troughing rolls.

HD-1500

The HD-1500 is a heavy-duty version of our HD series.  Troughing idler carrying capacity is up to 1,500 lb. load rating for today’s higher capacity applications.

HX Series

• HX-30 idlers are designed for CEMA D applications and incorporate 6306 (30 mm) deep-groove ball bearings
• HX-40 idlers are designed for CEMA E applications and incorporate 6308 (40 mm) deep-groove ball bearings

HX series deep-groove ball bearing idler rolls are available with 2RS or open bearings.  Bearing and seal cavities in open bearing rolls are filled with grease from the factory to promote long-life operation.

The HX series idler rolls feature the following:

• Engineered shaft, available on all HX series return rolls and on 42-inch belt width and wider troughing rolls, reduces overall roll weight and shaft deflection
• Retaining sleeve creates a smooth contact surface for the rotating lip seal
• The back seal allows for a larger grease reservoir for open bearing rolls
• A flinger employs the natural centrifugal forces generated by a rotating idler roll to redirect potential contaminants away from the bearing cavity
• Triple labyrinth seal impedes progress of contaminants toward the bearing
• Counter-bored shell with protected weld contributes to proper bearing alignment
• Lip seal designed to provide added protection for the bearing

H-Plus series (regreasable)

H-Plus series idlers exceed CEMA D specifications.  Bearing and seal cavities are filled with grease from the factory to promote long-life operation.

The H-Plus series (regreasable) idler rolls feature the following:

• Engineered shaft is available on all return rolls and all 42” belt width and wider troughing rolls
• Bearings are positively greased from one fitting on either side
• A unique, precision die-cast nut, and triple horizontal labyrinth seal provide three baffles designed to keep contaminants out.

SDX-2200

SDX-2200 idlers exceed CEMA E specifications.  Troughing idler carrying capacity is up to 2,200 lb. load rating.  Bearing and seal cavities are filled with grease from the factory to promote long-life operation.

The SDX-2200 idlers feature the following:

• 1 ¼”, modified geometry tapered roller bearings
• Adjusting nut provides additional protection to seal area and establishes a very precise bearing adjustment
• Extra-heavy, die-formed end bracket designed with super wide base and direct foot mounting for increased rigidity and resistance to impact
• Engineered shaft is available on all return rolls and on 42-inch belt width and wider troughing rolls
• Heads are press fit into the roll and positively locked into position by means of our unique groove-lock design.This approach provides a truly concentric, scale-quality roll assembly.

Both sealed and regreasable designs are available.

HXF-40 series

HXF-40 idlers exceed CEMA F specifications.  Bearing and seal cavities are filled with grease from the factory to promote long-life operation.  Applications include high-tonnage mining and industrial applications, mining operations with overburden removal and underground longwall coal mining operations that want to more closely match tonnage rates to highly productive longwall mining machines.

Idler roll features include:

• 40 mm spherical roller bearings
• Engineered shaft reduces overall roll weight and shaft deflection
• Back seal allows for a larger grease reservoir
• A flinger employs the natural centrifugal forces generated by a rotating idler roll to redirect potential contaminants away from the bearing cavity
• Triple labyrinth seal impedes progress of contaminants toward the bearing
